Crossroads Mission Avenue is grateful for the Kearney community’s
support as we work together to raise funding for a commercial kitchen at the
Kearney Mission! Crossroads has been providing food services for our
needy neighbors throughout Central Nebraska for 40 years now! Crossroads
began in Hastings by serving one meal a day in 1983. Vital services were
expanded to Kearney in February 2012, with the purchase of a building that is
now approximately 20 years old. The current residential-style
kitchen in this building has been used continuously to provide food services
for over 3,300 guests, serving more than 560,000 meals in the past 11
years! The population served by Crossroads continues to grow and it is
time to upgrade to a commercial kitchen to continue
providing essential food services to Kearney residents. It’s
TIME to renovate and upgrade the kitchen in our Kearney Mission!
Crossroads provided well over 75,000 meals to Kearney residents in 2023. To meet this ever-growing need, upgrading to a commercial kitchen is crucial. Commercial kitchens are designed for rigorous use and cleaning, durability, safety, sanitation, and compliance with local building codes. Expansion of the dining room will allow more residents to take advantage of our open table, where individuals may join us for a hot meal during our regular meal times.
THANK YOU to those who are helping us serve our neighbors well through your donations to help renovate our Kearney kitchen!
