Help Crossroads Serve Our Neighbors Through Kearney Give Where You Live!

November 7, 2024

A commercial-style kitchen has finally come to Kearney Crossroads Mission Avenue! Please give during the Kearney Give Where You Live event to help us finish up the project! Early giving begins on November 7th, and KGWYL day is December 5th! Help us serve our neighbors well by giving generously!

Hot, nutritious meals are served to an average of 67 guests daily, and anyone needing a meal is encouraged to come during the set meal times. A non-barrier food pantry offers a food box with no requirements to be met for individuals in the Kearney community suffering from food insecurities to help provide for their needs during the month. Crossroads is especially grateful to those supporters who have helped us out by providing meals and shelf-stable breakfast items while our kitchen renovation was underway!

Since the Kearney Crossroads Mission Avenue facility opened in 2012, more than 657,000 meals have been served to Buffalo County residents! Kearney Crossroads has already provided over 70,000 meals to hungry men, women, and families, and nearly 550 families have received a food box from the Mission this year. Proper kitchen facilities enable Crossroads to store and prepare food supplies in a way that provides maximum vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients essential for good health. Consuming nutrient-dense foods is especially crucial for children, the elderly, and those with fragile health, such as the chronically homeless. Lack of proper nutrition leads to learning disabilities, lack of focus, illness, behavior problems, high stress levels, and a higher incidence of chronic disease, all of which could initiate lifelong health issues. Crossroads continually strives to remind the community about the availability of food boxes and meal times! THANK YOU for making our kitchen renovation a reality! Give generously to Kearney Crossroads during KGWYL to help us finish up the project and continue to serve our Kearney community well!
